Buick vs. Lexus

So we were driving south on I-95 today on the way home from stone for the outdoor kitchen and we pass a billboard for the 2010 Buick LaCrosse that boldly stated "Something else for Lexus to relentlessly pursue" - or at least something to that effect.

Really Buick? I'm all for the second-coming of American automobiles. I've been following the careers of several design types over the last few years and admiring the fresh, clean and exciting designs put out by our domestic big three. Unfortunately for Buick, I just don't think that the Marketing folks should so brazenly poke Lexus.

From what I've read and seen, the new LaCrosse is a respectable competitor for many automobiles out there. I'm happy for it - and the many other fine products that GM is offering; arguably the best products in decades.

I want to see Buick succeed, I think the Enclave is a benchmark of design to which other Buicks should aspire and improve upon.

Let's see some exciting boutique automobiles from Buick - how about a standard size luxe convertible to knock the Chrysler Sebring off the road? but there's another topic for another day...
